Sobenja vas is a small village at the eastern foothills of the Gorjanci hills in the Brežice municipality in eastern Slovenia, close to the border with Croatia. The area was traditionally part of Lower Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Spodnjeposavska statistical region.[2]
A simple chapel with a small belfry in the settlement is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows and was built in the first quarter of the 20th century.[3]
